This one day training course is organised by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board Training Group and is targeted at all staff from all agencies who are working directly with children, or adults who are parents. Effective child protection depends not only on reliable and accepted procedures for all staff involved with children, but also on their skills, knowledge and judgement and the ability to work together co-operatively. Staff with lead roles in child protection require specialised training in order to carry out their work with abused children and families. Please note it is recommended to leave a minimum of 3 months between attending Inter Agency Child Protection and Advanced Inter Agency Child Protection.

This one day course is designed to provide participants with increased knowledge and understanding in relation to communicating with disabled children and young people, along with a greater confidence in using their skills.

Data Protection & ICT Security refresher training 2019

This one day workshop aims to raise awareness and knowledge of the causes and impact of dementia on individuals, and to highlight ways in which staff can work positively and effectively with older people who are living with dementia. This one day course provides adult social care staff who are responsible for moving people, with basic information and skills at an introductory level.The course is designed for anyone working in a care setting who are required to move people within their role. Please make sure you wear suitable clothing and footwear as there is a practical aspect to this training.

This course is aimed at practitioners who have an inquiring mind and are interested in supporting children holistically. This course reflects the increased awareness of the importance of wellbeing for all. 

Mindfulness is about being fully aware of living, right now, in this moment. Research has shown that being mindful is good for us. It can have long term benefits for our health and happiness.

There is an emerging body of research that indicates mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In this course we will explore ways to practice mindfulness through being, not doing, and to use our senses in nature. We will consider how to foster an outdoor approach to support the children’s and staff’s wellbeing and mental health.

We will be outside whatever the weather. Waterproofs, stout walking boots/welly boots and warm clothing is advised.

Suitable for Practitioners who have attended previous Quit Manager training and would like to refresh their skills and increase their confidence. This training is also suitable for Practitioners who have not yet received training on Quit Manager and need to use the database system as part of the service delivery.
