Children naturally go through loss and change but for some, especially those bereaved, it can be very difficult.
When children come into care or are adopted, it is only natural that they will feel a sense of loss, and if the separation from the birth family is looking to be over a longer period of time, it is likely that they will feel a sense of bereavement too. Having an understanding of this can help you to better cope with the difficult emotions that our young people are trying to deal with as well as give you strategies for how to communicate with your child or young person.
This overview of loss links to children of different age groups and provides suggestions for working with children and families.
This 1-day course is specifically for all council-employed Adult Social Care practitioners: Social Workers, OTs, Social Work Assistants, OT Assistants; Senior Practitioners, Team & Service Managers.

The course will enable all adult social care practitioners in South Glos Council to:

2. Increase their confidence to work to national and local expectations and processes for safeguarding adults.
3. Refresh and refine their skills and knowledge around working with risk, effective decision-making and communication to promote confidence in adult safeguarding.
This network is for all practitioners and room leaders working with two year olds.
How do we meet the unique needs of two year olds in our settings?
How do we ensure they receive a curriculum appropriate to their developmental stage?
This network aims to explore these questions in more depth through professional discussion and dialogue, drawing on current research and thinking.
