This 2 hour webinar is delivered on behalf of the South Gloucestershire Children's Partnership.

Participants should be only those who have already completed an Advanced-level of Child Protection training within statutory or setting-related timescales, and who now need to maintain this level of training.

Also, it will be necessary for participants to have completed distance learning provided, prior to the webinar.

Participants will be expected to have a good working knowledge of safeguarding with experience of statutory and local child protection responsibilities and procedures.


Effective child protection depends not only on reliable and accepted procedures for all staff involved with children, but also on their skills, knowledge and judgment and the ability to work together co-operatively.

Staff with lead roles in child protection require specialised training in order to carry out their work with abused children and families.

The learning outcomes for this training are designed to ensure that all participants receive updates in the latest child protection legislation, statutory guidance, local policies, procedures and professional requirements.

Code: SGC/21/0472 Does your child/young person become easily overwhelmed? Come and explore creative ways to help regulate their senses – Webinar (Parent/Carer Session)

This session is for theparent/carers of Children & Young people with any additional need or disability and/or Mental health needs. 

Overwhelm happens to all of us when we are under a lot of stress, and it can be heightened by the sensory environment around us. This will be an interactive practical session where you can make a sensory item with us or just simply watch and get ideas. 

We will be able to discuss/share ideas and strategies to help your child/young person to ensure their sensory needs are being met, therefore, reducing their overwhelm. 

If you would like to make a sensory item with us you will need the following items (you don't have to make them all, just choose the ones you prefer) :

Lava sensory bottle

1 sturdy small clear bottle 500/600ml ('smart' water bottles work well)

250 / 300ml baby oil or veg oil (baby oil has the advantage of being clear)

around 200mls of water

food colouring

1 alkaseltzer tablet


Origami Fidget spinner

15x15 cm (6x6 inch) square piece of paper

colouring pencils


DIY Stress Ball

1 odd sock - a brightly coloured one if possible

up to 350g dried rice depending on sock size

a funnel or cone of paper

1 empty small bottle

an elastic band

some felt tips / markers

Code: SGC/21/012 Level 2 Award in Food Safety (Basic Food Hygiene) (Cancelled)

This award (formerly the Basic Food Hygiene certificate) is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). All food handlers are required by law to receive appropriate food hygiene training. This is relevant for anyone in contact with food preparation and service, such as Catering Staff, Care/Support staff (adult social care/housing-related services), Teaching staff, Lunchtime Supervisors, Classroom Assistants and Students. The standard charge for this course is £80 per day. Payment can be made via www.southglos.gov.uk/online payments and selecting Adult Social Care 1 day Training.  Please refer to our Course Charges on the Home page for information on discounts and exemptions.

Wesport (our County Sport Partnership) have teamed up with Off the Record to deliver this 1hr webinar to sports clubs and coaches.

The webinar will increase your confidence as a community sport coach or club volunteer, on the important role you and your club play supporting the mental wellbeing of your junior members.

Examples will be shared of what other clubs have done and give guidance on the tools available to support you to open up a conversation within your club around Mental Health.
