This half day advanced session is designed to take you through each section of the Care Management Process step by step to give you valuable hands on experience with what you will be doing within AIS.

This half day session is designed for all users of AIS that are required to input/add/amend data.  It is a pre-requisite that the e-learning module is passed prior to booking onto this session

These workshops are for South Glos Council Integrated Childrens Services staff only, i.e. who come into contact with young people and families. This includes managers who have responsibility for supervision, policy and decision-making.
The aim is to build good practice across children and young people's services, both challenging and supporting front line practitioners to be clear about what good practice looks like. There will be a focus on examples of good practice and support to staff to self evaluate their own practice against these examples. The aim is for everyone to share and learn from the things that went well, not so well, and what people would do differently to improve things.

Inter-Agency Child Protection. This one day training course is organised by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board Training Group and is targeted at employees working directly with children who have completed °single° agency Child Protection i.e. e-learning CP and is facilitated by a South Gloucestershire Multi-agency Safeguarding Board Trainer. Safeguarding of children and young people is everybody°s responsibility. This multi-agency course is aimed at those who need to expand upon the knowledge gained from the e-learning module by increasing confidence and competence in order to contribute to inter-agency assessments and to undertake an assessment of risk when required. This course aims to give staff an opportunity to explore within a face to face, multi-agency environment, various aspects of child protection in order to enhance knowledge and awareness of the issues and the ability to respond appropriately to them. This course will also cover basic processes and procedures for making a referral to Children°s Social Care. Those that have frontline responsibility or are the designated safeguarding lead in their establishment should also undertake Advanced Inter-Agency Child Protection training. Please complete the Child Protection Awareness and Neglect E Learning before attending this training. Please note it is recommended to leave a minimum of 3 months between attending Inter Agency Child Protection and Advanced Inter Agency Child Protection.

This is a 2-day workshop specifically for South Gloucestershire Council managers and supervisors. It is split into two 1-day sessions (Day 1: 15th Jan & Day 2: 26th Feb). The main focus of the workshop is on exploring really practical tools and approaches for managing, supporting and challenging teams and individuals, including aspects such as coaching, communication and performance. The workshop will be led by Lenny Bedoyan.

This one day course provides adult social care staff who are responsible for moving people, with basic information and skills at an introductory level.The course is designed for anyone working in a care setting who are required to move people within their role. Please make sure you wear suitable clothing and footwear as there is a practical aspect to this training.

This course is aimed at SENCOs and managers who have children in their setting with more complex needs.

Using case studies, this course will explore the processes which need to be followed when requesting an Education Health Care needs assessment (EHCna).

The course will inform SENCOs about how to collate the graduated response evidence and use it to provide reports which will support an EHC needs request. It will look at the responsibilities for the setting that has a child with an Education Health Care plan in place.
