This half day course follows CQC requirements on the administration of medication. It includes trainer presentation, discussion, and a short multiple-choice assessment at the end to check the information has been retained by participants. Relevant handouts/paperwork will be provided. This course is aimed at any adult social care staff in South Gloucestershire, working in domiciliary, residential and day care services (statutory sector AND IVP sector agencies).

These events are suitable for Childminders and the SENCO in your setting. Keeping up to date with local and national information is a challenge for everyone. These networks will provide Childminders and SENCOs with a range of experiences, with opportunities to come together to share information and to engage in professional discussion and dialogue. Meetings will be structured to provide: • Local and national updates • An opportunity to discuss and explore a current early years SEND topic or theme • An opportunity for practitioners to share good practice and learn from each other The focus for the meeting will be posted on the VLE one month prior to the meeting taking place.

This is a 2-day workshop for Practice Managers and Senior Social Workers in the council's Children's Services division. It is split into two 1-day sessions (in mid-June & then early-July). The main focus of the workshop is on exploring really practical tools and approaches for managing, supporting and challenging teams and individuals, including aspects such as coaching, communication and performance. The workshop will be led by Lenny Bedoyan.

This session will provide a brief overview of updates from the following areas: tobacco control plan, smoking cessation services, medications, e-cigarettes, mental health, smoking in pregnancy, supporting repeat clients and Quit Manager.
