This half day workshop is aimed at adult social care staff in South Gloucestershire, working in domiciliary, residential and day care services (statutory sector AND IVP sector agencies) The course includes trainer presentation, discussion, and a short multiple-choice assessment at the end to check the information has been retained by participants. Relevant handouts/paperwork will be provided by the facilitator Claire Boyd, North Bristol Trust. Please note this training is held at Southmead Hospital (Learning & Research building in the Science Quarter).

This two and a half-day course is aimed at practitioners who would like to start their outdoor journey, building knowledge and confidence. Entry requirements: None, however DBS and suitable first aid qualification is advised. This course is aimed at practitioners who would like to start their outdoor journey, building knowledge and confidence. We will look at different types of play and learning to support child development. We will introduce basic woodland skills, using tools, identifying risks, hazards and benefits to help you to start developing your own practice in the natural environment. This is a QCF accredited course through Cambium. You will have a work book to hand in, in order to complete the course. Please bring a packed lunch as lunches will not be provided.

The multi-agency South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board oversees the Joint Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults in this area. It is essential that a wide range of staff working in local authority, health and social care agencies are fully aware of the key issues in safeguarding vulnerable adults and of how the policy affects them in their front-line roles. The half-day ALERTER course is essential training for all front-line staff and managers who are involved in providing services to safeguard vulnerable adults and work directly with service users . The course content is closely linked to relevant Competencies in the local South Glos Safeguarding Adults Competency Framework. Course attendance is monitored by the Safeguarding Adults Board.
