The Early Years Foundation Stage recognises that ‘the environment is the third teacher’ and an enabling environment plays a key role in supporting children’s learning and development.

What does an enabling environment look like?

This course will consider a range of philosophies on what makes an enabling environment for 2 – 3 year olds and how specific aspects of the physical environment can provide opportunities for valuable learning to take place. There will be opportunities to reflect upon your individual environments to plan how to make meaningful improvements to provide the best learning environment possible for your 2 – 3 year olds.
