This network is for all practitioners, leaders and managers who may have specific responsibility for overseeing vulnerable /disadvantaged children within their setting and for those practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge of working with vulnerable /disadvantaged children. You will have the opportunity to attend three network sessions over the year. As a network we aim to be responsive to the needs of the group on an ongoing basis. In addition, each session will include a specific focus through a ‘spotlight’. Session 1 – Spotlight on Gender, meeting the needs of boys. Session 2 – Spotlight on Funding, what various funding streams are available to you. Session 3 – Spotlight on children who receive support through a SAF, child protection and Child in Need plan. Each session will aim to include current research and thinking and will provide you with ways in which you can proactively narrow the gap for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children in your care. “Any gaps between the attainment of groups, including those for whom the setting receives additional funding, are closing.” Ofsted ‘Good’ grade descriptor for outcomes for children “Early education has the potential to drive social mobility and improve outcomes for the next generation. We should not let them down.” Unknown Children, destined for disadvantage: Sir M Wiltshire
