Code: SGC/21/0113 Virtual School Keeping in Touch Days with Foster Carers - The relationship with school and homework

The Virtual School value the time they spend with carers, and to enable this to be an even more successful partnership between school and home, would like to have more sessions available for meeting you during the course of the year. Each session will have a focus, but as ever, if there are topics we haven’t identified that you would find more helpful, please let Catherine Charlton know, by emailing: catherine.charlton@southglos.gov.uk.

This session has been updated to look at the Impact of Covid on Education.

As a Virtual School we are trying to understand the impact of Covid on all of our young people and those supporting them. This will be an interactive session covering the following:
• Impact of lockdowns and school closures
• Responses from school in providing education either on site or remotely
• Challenges of the full return of schools
• Impact on Mental Health for All
• What do our children need most in the next 12 months?

There are no complete answers to the impact on Covid and as Virtual School, who hold our carers in the highest esteem, we would like to ensure that we have listened carefully to you about this area in order that we can respond appropriately.
