THIS TRAINING SESSION WILL BE DELIVERED VIA MICROSOFT TEAMS - YOU WILL RECEIVE A MEETING INVITE SHORTLY BEFORE THE TRAINING COURSE.
This one-day, remotely-delivered, training course provides excellent foundation knowledge and awareness of how to manage contracts with external providers successfully in order to extract better value-for-money and deliver the desired commercial outcomes. Competence in this area is equally about how to manage intelligently, knowing when to consult with professional colleagues especially when undertaking complex processes such as contractual change, recognising the key drivers that will improve supplier performance and understanding the role and importance of robust contract governance.
The course is ideal for individuals who have accountability for managing third party service providers within the council (including budget holders, contract managers, relationship managers, service delivery managers and procurement practitioners), as well as those that are relatively new to the procurement function.
Please note there is £100 charge for all delegates to attend this course (invoiced to North Somerset and B&NES delegates, and recharged to departments for South Glos delegates).
An introduction to a simple and effective tool the control dartboard, helpful in times of change or unpredictable conditions. The model can help at home or at work, it can be applied to self or others and is a great way of taking the “sting” of emotional responses out, to help us apply logic to our thinking. A very practical model that can be applied in a variety of situations and can really help to “free up” stuck thinking.
This workshop will be delivered as a webinar via Zoom.

The Purpose for the support groups
We realise that fostering can be really difficult at times. Perhaps the only people who really understand it are other foster carers and so therefore we want to give you a place to meet up.
There will be biscuits and/or cake, coffee, tea, and an opportunity for an informal chat at all of the meetings.
Although these will be informal meetings, each session will have a brief agenda, attendance list, and agreed group rules. This is to help those who don’t know anyone and feel awkward about coming along to a new meeting, to feel that they won’t be left alone on the side-lines.
Sometimes there will be speakers and topics as requested by the group, this will hopefully make it as relevant to your fostering as you like.
These sessions should be recorded on your Personal Development Plan (PDP).
This management development programme is for managers and aspiring managers from South Gloucestershire Council, neighbouring Local Authorities, and other organisations operating in the area. It provides an opportunity to reflect on your experience and working practices and is equally suitable for new managers making the transition from staff member to manager, existing managers who wish to build on their experience and aspiring managers who are preparing to make their first step into a management role. It sets out the foundations of knowledge and skills needed for development within a management role, and enables managers to identify further training and development needs. This blended online programme will be delivered as a series 6.5 days over a seven month period supported with 10 hours of self-directed learning. It will be delivered through a blended solution including online training, psychometric assessment, 360 review, action learning sets, individual coaching, individual reflection, skills practice and e-learning. These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.
Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone. Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.
