This is a half-day course delivered by Sarah Wigley, commissioned on behalf of the South Glos Safeguarding Adults Board. It is aimed at practitioners working in adult care services - across both statutory and IVP sectors - for whom it can act as an "intermediate"-level domestic violence and abuse course, e.g. to be completed before going on to do the Domestic Abuse: Advanced training and the Working with Perpetrators course (see LSCB training pathway). Children's services workforces may also find it helpful in terms of the particular focus on Coercive Control that this workshop covers.Essential Information
This is a one day course for participants to develop the skills necessary to provide emergency first aid to someone who has an accident or suddenly becomes ill at work. Participants will be trained and assessed during the course in order to receive a certificate. Please note - you will be required to complete 3 practical assessments and a multiple choice test. You need to bring Photo ID eg passport, driving licence. If these are not available please bring your Work ID with photo If you require assistance with reading/writing please let the use know prior to the start of the course.Essential Information
Mandatory Adult and Child Safeguarding
This briefing will provide a brief overview of the legislation that gives Local Authorities the duty to carry out safeguarding enquiries, including a look at the terminology that is used. It will cover the definition of an Adult at Risk and the types of abuse that can occur. It will also look at Organisational Abuse and touch on the recent Safeguarding Adults Review that has been published, as well as giving the telephone numbers for people to use if they have concerns about a person or service.
