This half day course follows CQC requirements on the administration of medication. It includes trainer presentation, discussion, and a short multiple-choice assessment at the end to check the information has been retained by participants. Relevant handouts/paperwork will be provided. This course is aimed at any adult social care staff in South Gloucestershire, working in domiciliary, residential and day care services (statutory sector AND IVP sector agencies).

This 2-day course is suitable for those working with complex people or situations. It aims to develop skills and confidence in order to help children and young people around self-harm and suicide prevention.

Are you up to date with local and national information relevant to early years? Come and join with other leaders and managers for an informal meeting specifically aimed at supporting the sector. This network meeting will provide an opportunity to receive and share information. Sessions are structured to facilitate and encourage professional discussion and dialogue. Subjects discussed will reflect national and local updates, consultations or imminent changes. Across the year a variety of topics will be explored.

The multi-agency South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board oversees the Joint Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults in this area. It is essential that a wide range of staff working in local authority, health and social care agencies are fully aware of the key issues in safeguarding vulnerable adults and of how the policy affects them in their front-line roles. The half-day Raising Safeguarding Concerns course is essential training for all front-line staff and managers who are involved in providing services to adults at risk and who work directly with service users. The course content is mapped to the learning outcomes in the local Safeguarding Adults Training Standards (published Dec 2017) as well as to relevant national occupational standards including the Care Certificate (Standard 10). Course attendance is monitored by the Safeguarding Adults Board.

Core Skill 5 - This course aims to improve the recording practice of Foster Carers and is linked to Induction Standards for Foster Carers. The course learning objectives are to:- Ensure Foster Carers are clear about their role in recording Ensure Foster Carers are aware of national and local guidance and best practice in recording Provide an opportunity to practice recording skills and reflect on own practice.
