This one day training course is organised by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board Training Group and is targeted at all staff from all agencies who are working directly with children, or adults who are parents. Effective child protection depends not only on reliable and accepted procedures for all staff involved with children, but also on their skills, knowledge and judgement and the ability to work together co-operatively. Staff with lead roles in child protection require specialised training in order to carry out their work with abused children and families. Please note it is recommended to leave a minimum of 3 months between attending Inter Agency Child Protection and Advanced Inter Agency Child Protection.Essential Information
YOU WILL NEED TO ATTEND THE "RAISING SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS" (previously ALERTER) COURSE BEFORE YOU ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP.
Safeguarding Adults is a high priority aspect of the social/healthcare task. The role of a manager/practitioner in ensuring that staff respond appropriately to an ‘alert’ is vital. These staff also need to be confident about their own responsibilities in safeguarding adults, and responding appropriately to concerns about a person’s safety. This 1-day course will assist managers/supervisors, Social Workers/OTs and other practitioners including in healthcare be clear about their role: how Making Safegaurding Personal impacts on it, how to conduct an interview, and how to make decisions about what to do next.

A one day interactive workshop which builds on the mandatory Recruitment & Selection e-module (Search Events/Online learning), which must be completed before attending this course. The workshop is intended for South Gloucestershire Council employees who are currently recruiting and enables them to design and practice all stages of their recruitment process.Essential Information
