This half-day course is suitable for those who have previously attended the Epilepsy Awareness Training Day within the last 2 years AND only if they are responsible for administering rescue meds.

(The Joint Epilepsy Council recommends individuals named to administer rescue treatment to attend a refresher course within at least two years). Epilepsy Buccal Midazolam/ Rectal Diazepam instatus Epilepticus Refresher.

CS1 .This course has been tailored to suit the needs of Foster Carers, Adopters and Family Link Carers who look after children on a 24 hour basis. This is a certificated course, so please ensure you can arrive on time and attend all of the course.

If you have any covid symptoms or have been asked to isolate, do not attend the course.

All participants attending this course will be required to bring a paper disposable 3 ply face mask - fabric masks / scarves will not be acceptable. Wearing a mask will be necessary when moving around the building and when doing practical elements of the training that require you to be working close together.

This network is for all Teachers who are working within Reception classes or Nursery Classes in South Gloucestershire Schools.

This network will support the development of a Floorbook approach through an action research project.

• What is a Floorbook?
• Getting started using Floorbooks.
• How can Floorbooks support planning, provision and assessment?
• What is Action Research and how can this improve practice and support professional development?

Participants will be supported to systematically examine, develop, and evaluate their practice through an action research project developing the use of Floorbooks.

Code: SGC/22/0375 Portage Workshop - A Small Steps Approach to Learning for Children with SEND

This course is aimed at any professional working with children with SEND. Including Early years practitioners, Childminders, SENCOs, teachers.

This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers. The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families.

The workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules:
The Portage Model and its relevance to Early Years Settings
Helping Children Learn – Using Clear Language
Helping Children Learn – Planning for Success
Helping Children Learn – A Small Steps Approach
Examples of Planning, Recording and Sharing
Supporting the Development of Play
Positive Approaches to Children’s Behaviour

Participants will gain practical strategies, ideas, resources that can be used straight away within the home or setting, to differentiate and provide for children with additional needs.

Refreshments will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.
