This course is for Ofsted registered childminders, both new to the role or experienced, who would like to develop their knowledge of outdoor learning from home and out and about with minded children.
Have you ever noticed that some children are more engaged and focused when outdoors? Do your outdoor spaces motivate, inspire and engage your children’s learning?
Outdoor learning happens in the natural environments where participants can see, hear, touch and smell the real thing. Outdoor experiences readily become a stimulating source of fascination. It offers many healthy options, physically, emotionally, builds self-esteem and supports children’s style of learning as well as emotional wellbeing (yours and theirs).
During this session we will not only explore experiences for early years children but also develop your own confidence through looking at risk benefits, risk assessments, practical ideas so that you are fully armed when taking the learning and fun outside.
We will be looking at a range of outdoor opportunities and experiences that you can offer at home or when out and about.
PLEASE NOTE: We will be outside for part of the session – waterproofs are advised.
No charge for Ofsted registered South Glos childminders
£60 for others

These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.
Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone. Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.
