In this course we will explore young children’s early learning and development through the three prime areas of;

  •  personal, social and emotional development
  •  communication and language
  •  physical development.

We will provide practical ways that you can support the child’s learning and development through quality interactions and play opportunities. There will be information about what to do if you have concerns around a delay in areas of learning and development including early identification.

Session Two

If you are new to caring for babies or would like a refresher to consider the most recent advice and guidance, this course is for you!

Session one we will be exploring the practical elements of caring for babies including feeding, weaning, nappy changing and safe sleeping arrangements, looking at the factors which can influence these important care routines.
There will also be opportunities to share and discuss some of the challenges of caring for babies in a confidential and safe space where solutions will be considered.

• how to prevent, delay or reduce care needs with information and advice
• a look at independent advocacy

• assessments of needs, carers assessments and eligibility determination
• an individual’s journey through the reform system.

Code: SGC/24/0105 Signs of Safety 2 Day Introduction

This training is for people who will be using the Signs of Safety approach in their day-to-day work with children, young people and their families or carers. It is also relevant for people who will be supervising others who are using the approach. The two day Signs of Safety Introduction training is provided by accredited external trainers and places are limited. Key Integrated Children's Services staff to attend are those who chair key meetings and who undertake statutory assessments gathering information from other agencies and where the outcome has a considerable impact on the life of a child/family.
Course Duration: Two days
Course Aims: This training provides practitioners and managers with the skills and knowledge to be able to start to use the Signs of Safety approach in their practice.
