A workshop for staff who are dealing with change, whether that’s service reviews, changes in work processes or any of the other ways in which change manifests itself. We look at reactions to change, why we might be responding as we are, and how we can think through situations and choose our mindset.Essential Information
The session delivers an overview of project management and introduces key principles and tools that support successful projects. Learners will also understand the importance of milestones, monitoring project performance and risk management.
Please note there is a charge of £80 to attend this course.
In order to meet the aims of the council many teams are now being asked to work in different ways. This change of focus is referred to as agile working and we are tackling many projects with a focus on output over process, speeding up change and delivering on our commitments with much quicker timescales. The benefits are enhanced value for money for our residents and evolving services that meet our community’s needs. This often requires us to work in very different ways than we are used to and this online course is intended to provide you with an overview of what is required in adopting the council’s new ways of working.
This course will give you an opportunity to explore what agile working is and the differences in approaching tasks in this way, the factors that need to be in place to ensure new ways of working work for you, the organisation and our residents and some tools to support these approaches. It will also give you some practical examples of successful projects based on an agile approach and the lessons that have been learnt from this.
This interactive online learning introduces a variety of creative solution generation and decision-making techniques. You will develop the skills necessary to analyse a problem, generate creative solutions, and decide which solution most closely matches their needs. You will find out about problem solving styles and be able reflect on the typical approach you take and compare it with other styles. You'll gain knowledge about how defining the problem can be key and different tools you can use to do this, different creative approaches you can apply to the issues to generate solutions and alternative ideas and then evaluation processes so you reach decisions that achieve the outcomes you want.
This course is aimed at any internal staff who want to develop practical skills and approaches to problem solving, creative idea generation, and decision making tools where the solutions are not always obvious.
This online course will consider your role in leading change, the forces and nature of change in the organisation and strategic and operational approaches to leading change. We will consider the psychology of change and the impact of change on different individuals and how as a manager you need to work with individuals to process and adapt to change. We will also consider your relationship with stakeholders through change and the importance of good resource management in dealing with changing demands and requirements on your service.
This is a self-study course that you can work through at your own pace.

In this course, we'll look at the nature of change and how it affects individuals. It will help you recognise the impact of change and show you how to equip yourself to cope in an ever changing environment.
We'll look at changes within the council and what you may be experiencing as a result of change.
This course is also useful for line managers to help better understand how a team may be feeling and for employees to become aware of the different reactions to change that people have and the support the council offers you.

If you wish to do this we recommend putting aside three hours and setting up a MS Teams meeting so you can use the chat function to record important points, questions you have, tips you can share and record any changes you want to make.

Now the term is used to describe the proportion of time and energy we dedicate to work life and home life. It is linked to our wellbeing and mental health.
This comprehensive course covers what is work life balance and tips to improve your wellbeing through re-balancing work life and demands at home. It considers what work/life balance is, the impact of imbalance in raising stress levels, setting boundaries, delegation, ways to enhance your wellbeing and steps you can take in work to find the balance.
