This course is delivered on behalf of the South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children's Partnership.

Participants should be only those who have already completed the Introduction to Child Protection and Advanced-level of Child Protection training within statutory or setting-related timescales, and who now need to maintain this level of training.

Participants will be expected to have a good working knowledge of safeguarding with experience of statutory and local child protection responsibilities and procedures.

Effective child protection depends not only on reliable and accepted procedures for all staff involved with children, but also on their skills, knowledge and judgment and the ability to work together co-operatively.

Staff with lead roles in child protection require specialised training in order to carry out their work with abused children and families.

The learning outcomes for this training are designed to ensure that all participants receive updates in the latest child protection legislation, statutory guidance, local policies, procedures and professional requirements.

Code: SGC/24/0511 Signs of Safety Awareness for Partners

This session is designed for workers who need to: Know about the introduction of the Signs of Safety framework in the council and partner agencies, and understand the basic concepts of Signs of Safety to assist them in their job role. This 3-hour session is relevant to employees who: - will not be using the Signs of Safety approach directly with families, but will see it in practice and need to understand its simplest form - need an introduction to the approach before they go on to do more specific role-relevant training. These half-day workshops are provided at no charge to South Glos Children’s Partnership partner agencies. As with all the local inter-agency courses though, a 'no show' on the day will result in a £30 per person 'penalty' fee to the agency.

Code: SGC/23/0863 Bitesize awareness training on Reducing Parental Conflict

Relationships Matter

Conflict in relationships is part of everyday life, evidence suggests that conflict between parents is normal, but if exposure is frequent, intense, and poorly resolved, this can have a damaging impact on children, resulting in long-term mental health issues, emotional, behavioural, and academic problems as they grow up.

Children of all ages can be affected by destructive interparental conflict.

The Reducing Parental Conflict awareness workshop is suitable for those supporting children and their families especially those working within children’s social care, early help, health, education, and the voluntary sector.
