Foster Carers Engagement Event June 2021

This event has provisionally been booked via Microsoft Teams, if we are able to meet face to face a venue will be booked.

Part of this session will include

Signs of Safety : Session feedback from the "foster carer’s are worth doing business with" workshops.

We have been working with groups of you, our foster carers, to really hear your voice, and with your help we have developed tools to help us use the Signs of Safety principles and questioning approach, in the way we support you as carers.

We visited the last engagement session to talk about what we had done and now we will update you on the tools developed together and how and when they will be used.

Three foster carers have kindly volunteered to talk about the experience of developing these tools together and to share the difference it makes to them and the young people they care for when their supporting social worker use these tools and questioning approach.

Code: SGC/21/0777 Wellbeing Coaching - South Glos staff only (Emma Ford) (EVENT FULL)

These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.

Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone.  Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.
