If you have an existing booking on a course, we will transfer your booking. This one-day course provides delegates with information and guidance on the legal frameworks relevant to self-neglect, including hoarding. It is targeted at all health & social care professionals who work with people who self-neglect.

Trainer:
Piers McNeil is an independent social worker with 20 years’ experience in a range of adult social care fields, including: learning disability, physical disability, and older persons mental health. Piers is also a qualified DoLS Best Interests Assessor and was previously a Court of Protection visitor. He was also previously employed as a local authority MCA/safeguarding lead. Piers has led practice forums for Best Interests Assessors and has designed and delivered training to a range of audiences
The standard charge for this course is £115 per day. Please refer to our Course Charges on the Home page for information on discounts and exemptions.

The course will also help you to develop understanding around helping to support someone who is self-harming and best practice response.
The key aim is to build confidence, reduce stigma and create a better response to individuals who self-harm.
The trainer has requested that attendees have their cameras on during the session to ensure attendance and help with engagement.
The session will be interactive – with lots of opportunities for discussion.
