Event description
Supporting adult relationships.
Arguments in relationships are part of everyday life, evidence suggests that arguments between parents/carers is normal, but if exposure is frequent, intense, and poorly resolved, this can have a damaging impact on children, resulting in long-term mental health issues, emotional, behavioural, and academic problems as they grow up.
Learning outcomes
Children of all ages can be affected by destructive interparental conflict.
The training aims:
• Improve understanding on parental/carers conflict and the impact on children and young people.
• Help carers to identify relationship distress.
• Identify your own arguing style and how you can manage it.
• Introduce a toolkit of resources that can help to support carers.
