This session has been organised for the Development Hub Social Workers and any South Gloucestershire Council employee who is new to the authority, or who has previously missed this session.
 
Professionals often panic when faced with sexualised behaviour from children and young people. This training is designed to give professionals an insight into this behaviour, its causes, when to really be concerned, risks and how to react appropriately.

Polaris Children’s Services are now running a service in South Gloucestershire for people displaying harmful sexual behaviour.

The session will take place virtually either on Microsoft Teams or Zoom.  As soon as this has been confirmed the event description will be updated.
Learning outcomes
1. To understand the background and causes for sexually harmful behaviour in prepubescent and adolescent young people

2. To understand what work might be needed to lower risks of repetition of the behaviours

3. To be able to make sensible evaluation of risks and to formulate effective safety plans.
