Event description
This three-part course is for any Teaching Assistants or Support Staff working within the Early Years in a Reception or Nursery class who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
This three-part course will enable you to have the skills and knowledge needed to effectively support children within the EYFS.
Across the three sessions we will aim to explore the recent EYFS reforms, the 17 areas of learning, the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning, the role of the adult, the environment, observations and assessment.
We would like this course to be responsive to the needs of all those attending so in addition to any of the agreed focuses, we will also aim to explore any questions, ideas or suggestions those attending may have within each of the sessions.
Learning outcomes
• To increase your knowledge and understanding of the EYFS including the recent reforms, the 17 areas of learning and the COET+L.
• To develop your knowledge and understanding of the environment and continuous provision.
• To explore the role of the adult and the use of questioning.
• To develop your confidence in identifying children’s next steps and supporting their development within their play.
