Event description
Early Years Practitioners working in Early Years Settings – reception staff.

Only 1 person per setting can attend.

With woodwork children can develop their learning at their own pace and work through their own challenges. Once they have mastered basic skills, they move into open-ended exploration - tinkering, exploring possibilities and then they start making unique creations.

Peter Moorhouse remarks that “It is more important than ever for the new generation to be able to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills. Woodwork exercises such skills as children make their own choices and learn through trial and error. It sparks creative thinking and imagination, qualities that are at least as important in our changing world as the practical skills gained.”

This will be a practical session and we will work both inside and outside regardless of the weather so dress appropriately.

Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
