Development Workshop Description.
Many of you who have attended the Signs of Safety Awareness Workshop have said how useful and beneficial you found it. Many have left seeing ways in which they could use the tools within their fostering homes. However a number of you have also said that you would welcome more support in being able to use this. We really welcome this feedback and want to work with you to do just this.
Following on from the first three sessions, this session looks at an actual tool that can be used.
Workshop 4: using 'Words and Pictures' - Thursday 22nd April
This workshop is about explaining what ‘Words and Pictures’ is, and how you as foster carers can use it in a number of situations with your children and young people.
We are continuing to develop and really embed Signs of Safety within the Fostering Service – so keep your eyes open for more of these sessions.
By the end of the workshop participants will
Understand what Words and Pictures are and how they are used in children’s services
Be confident in talking to children about the W&P that they have been given by social workers
Be able to make a simple 4 frames W&P to use with their own children or foster children
