To educate Children’s social care practitioners and managers on the National Framework for Children and Young People’s Continuing Care.



Learning outcomes
To enable participants to:
- Understand the legal framework - National Framework for Children and Young People’s Continuing Care
- Understand the expectations and responsibilities of Health in determining eligibility and levels of support if eligible
- Understand how case law has influenced this area regarding Health responsibility to fund, in particular the Haringey judgement
- Understand the process and practice requirements of both social work and health practitioners – need for social care practitioners to understand this in order to be involved in the CCC assessment and be confident to challenge decisions
- Understand what is deemed to be a social care and a health need
- Understand the screening and decision tools that Health use.
- Application of the CCC assessment and decision making at CCC panel and in practice.
