This half-day course will give delegates a basic understanding of the Mental Health Act and its use in practice.
Learning outcomes
To gain a basic understanding of the MHA and its use in practice, including:
- the definition of mental disorder
- guiding principles
- admission to hospital for assessment or treatment
- guardianship
- community treatment orders
- professional roles, including the Police
- aftercare under section 117
- links to safeguarding
