Are you new to teaching and find yourself in a Reception class? Are you an experienced teacher and working in EYFS for the first time? Are you an experienced teacher returning to EYFS? This programme will reveal the excitement and challenge of working with the youngest children in school.
Whether this is your first post in teaching, you have come from teaching in another age group or you are returning to EYFS following time teaching in another year group, this course is for you. These sessions will focus on different aspects of the Reception classroom.
Through face to face sessions we will provide an opportunity for you to share good practice and discuss issues and concerns with colleagues.
We would like this training to be responsive to the needs of NQTs and experienced teachers new to or returning to EYFS in addition to any focus we may agree in response to national and local initiatives or EYFS data so please bring along your ideas and suggestions.
This is an opportunity to make links with other teachers in EYFS and has always been a useful discussion forum for sharing ideas, tips and concerns.
Learning outcomes
To explore how to develop an enabling environment for learning to meet the needs of all children.
To further understand the cycle of observation, assessment and planning in EYFS and to develop knowledge of how to use assessments made in EYFS to support the learning of all children.
To identify the importance of planned transitions in developing positive self-esteem and confidence for young children.
