A healthy, coherent sense of identity is fundamental to good mental health and wellbeing in all of us. So how can we enable our children to develop this amidst all the disruptions in their lives? Come to this interactive two day course if you want to discover the essential building blocks: • What Identity is and why is it important • What particular challenges do children brought up in care face? • What specific issues toddlers and teenagers encounter • Tools and skills to strengthen a positive sense of identity in our children Anna is the author of “Becoming an Ally to the Gender-Expansive Child: A guide for parents and carers” This course has been recommended by carers and social workers. • To deepen awareness and understanding of how difference impacts upon the experience of children and young people and their emerging identity
• To reflect on, discuss and problem solve any current issues for foster carers and adopters
