The Council Incident Room co-ordinates requests for council resources, (people and materials) that are needed to respond to a major incident, as well as gathering information. It is established for large scale incidents where the public are being adversely effected. The main incident room is at Badminton Road Offices in room 2009. Aim of this stage of training: • To provide staff with an overview of the council incident room (CIR) Objectives: • Outline the loggist role within the CIR • Outline the telephonist role within the CIR • Give staff the chance to practice both roles Only council staff from the emergency planning new volunteer list, who have manager permission to take part.

Volunteers will have an understanding of the following:
• What information needs to go on the message form
• Reasons for accuracy
• Easy mistakes to make and how to avoid them
• What information needs to go on the loggist form
