Code: SGC/19/726 safeTALK: suicide alertness for everyone

safeTALK is a half-day training in suicide alertness. It helps participants recognise a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with resources who can help them in choosing to live. Participants don’t need any formal preparation to attend the training—anyone age 15 or older who wants to make a difference can learn the safeTALK steps. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t want to die—instead, they are looking for a way to work
through the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they usually invite others to help them in making a choice for life. safeTALK teaches participants to recognise these invitations, engage with the person with thoughts of suicide, and connect them with resources to help them be safer from suicide.

Code: SGC/19/545 Signs of Safety 1 Day - Partners

A condensed version of the 2 day course - still offering the opportunity to properly explore and practice the model. Following the course those practitioners will want to think about how they then ensure others in their work-setting get a basic awareness of Signs of Safety, for example via a short internal cascade meeting for key staff etc. These 1 day workshops are provided at no charge to LSCB partner agencies. As with all LSCB run courses though, a 'no show' on the day will result in a £50 per person 'penalty' fee to the agency.
