These networks are aimed at all practitioners, leaders and managers who may have specific responsibility for overseeing vulnerable and disadvantaged children within their setting. It is also appropriate for those who wish to develop their knowledge of supporting children who may be at a disadvantage or deemed as ‘vulnerable’. You will have the opportunity to attend three different network sessions throughout 2019.
As a network we aim to be responsive to the needs of the group on an ongoing basis, in addition each session will include a specific focus within the session, through a ‘spotlight’. These networks follow on from the successful networks which ran last year and include a series of new ‘spotlights’.
Spring Spotlight on children who receive support through a SAFeh, child protection and Child in Need plan.
Summer Spotlight on engaging families.
Autumn Spotlight on funding, what various funding streams are available to you.
Each session will aim to include current research and thinking and will provide you with ways in which you can proactively narrow the gap for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children in your care.

Well-being and resilience are developed in the context of both our internal sense of self and the external context we find ourselves in. When we work in jobs which involve us in engaging with people who are experiencing emotional and psychological trauma, this will inevitably have an impact on our own resilience and well-being.
Developing well-being and resilience is more than just a set of tools or strategies. It is a holistic approach to life and work, based in our values and beliefs, which integrates daily practices to support ourselves in the challenging work we have chosen to do.
This workshop has been developed to provide a space for you to reflect and share with colleagues. In recent years an extensive evidence base has begun to emerge demonstrating the important beneficial effects on mental health of engaging with our natural environment. The venue for this workshop has been chosen specifically because of the proximity to one of the city’s beautiful green spaces. Except in the case of extremely bad weather part of this workshop will be conducted outdoors amongst the trees and green spaces of the Oldbury Court Estate.

This interactive 2-hour workshop supports adult care practitioners to understand the current context around Telecare and Assistive Technology in the organisation.
It is led by internal staff with expertise to explain the relevant equipment and to demonstrate what is available for customers, so that practitioners can ensure they cover these options fully and in a knowledgeable and informed way.
It takes place at Celestine House in Yate, to enable delegates to experience at first hand the newest IP/SIM card linked lifeline equipment in the house, which enables people to make “live” test calls through to the dpeartment's control centre. South Glos Telecare have purchased some of these new units in preparation for the switch from landlines to IP connected calls which will take place by 2025.
