Target Audience - all adult care workers supporting people in South Glos in: learning disability services, services for people living with dementia, older peoples’ services, mental health services. To help staff to understand the concept of person centredness and its implications for good practice. To help staff to develop skills in working in a person centred way, in a range of settings. The Early Years team are creating an exciting opportunity for setting practitioners and childminders, of all levels and experiences to come together and reflect upon Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the early years.

This management development programme is for managers and aspiring managers from South Gloucestershire Council, neighbouring Local Authorities, and other organisations operating in the area. It provides an opportunity to reflect on your experience and working practices and is equally suitable for new managers making the transition from staff member to manager, existing managers who wish to build on their experience and aspiring managers who are preparing to make their first step into a management role. It sets out the foundations of knowledge and skills needed for development within a management role, and enables managers to identify further training and development needs. This blended online programme will be delivered as a series 6.5 days over a seven month period supported with 10 hours of self-directed learning. It will be delivered through a blended solution including online training, psychometric assessment, 360 review, action learning sets, individual coaching, individual reflection, skills practice and e-learning. Please note there is a charge to attend this course for external delegates of £600. South Gloucestershire Council employees will be recharged £150 to cover costs.

This course looks at transforming the quality of your approach and how you record that new way of working: your assessments, care plans, visit forms, & all written work will be clear, concise and bring to life what life must be like for each child or young person youÀre working with. To do this the course will show you how to draw on your knowledge from research, experience and practice combined with an understanding of the childÀs needs within their family or the context in which the child lives. It will show you how the facts-analysis-judgement approach works: and how it will help as you move towards the Signs of Safety way of working. This course aims to make you confident in understanding what is relevant and meaningful and then show you how to write that down effectively. The standard charge for this course is £70.
