Code: SGC/17/661 Assessments and Interventions with Children

This course is the second module in the Direct Assessment and Intervention Skills training programme which provides the opportunity to understand child development theory and practice, the effect of trauma, grief and loss on children and young people, their parents and those affected by the vicarious nature of trauma. The programme will provide opportunities to share experiences, learn from colleagues and engage with credible strategies to promote protection, safeguarding and wellbeing for children and their families and carers. Each workshop will include theory, child development, assessment approaches and life case discussions. The standard charge for this course is £70 per day. This is a 1-day overview for newly-appointed staff working in the council's Children, Adults & Health department. It aims to provide those staff with general information about the department, and is a complement to the ongoing workplace induction process that all new staff should receive from their line manager and team. Staff must also complete the six mandatory e-modules that all new council staff need to undertake, as set out in the guidance on MyHR.

This is a one day course for participants to develop the skills necessary to provide emergency first aid to someone who has an accident or suddenly becomes ill at work. Participants will be trained and assessed during the course in order to receive a certificate. Please note - you will be required to complete 3 practical assessments and a multiple choice test. You need to bring Photo ID eg passport, driving licence. If these are not available please bring your Work ID with photo If you require assistance with reading/writing please let the use know prior to the start of the course.

She educates large employers on the menopause and implements systems to retain and ensure the best female talent flourish. Her message and work with mindset and health, spans celebrity circles to the executive suite. To date, Lauren has impacted over 1000 people across 3 continents and she regularly appears on TV and radio. Lauren feels passionately about making sure men understand and know what to do and women are fully supported. She provides current information and tools and techniques to stay well and symptom-free.

This session will provide participants with a more in depth look at Mosaic, covering the fundamentals, specifically the ‘Workflow’ process by giving people the opportunity to work through a process that they will use in their day to day work. This session builds on the Mosaic: Getting Started (Intermediate Session). Participants will begin to develop the necessary skills they need to get started with adding and progressing work (‘Workflow’) in preparation for go live on 12th March 2018. This session is mandatory for all staff who work on the following processes: CP, CIN, Fostering, LAC, Leaving Care, EHCP and Early Help (including CP note takers but not including Business Support). There are 3 types of advanced session, grouped into 1: CP & CIN 2: Fostering, LAC & Leaving Care 3: EHCP & Early Help – you only need to attend one session that covers the process you work with most often. Code: SGC/18/453 Signs of Safety Awareness (Cancelled)

This session is designed for workers who need to: Know about the introduction of the SIGNS OF SAFETY framework in the council and partner agencies, and Understand the basic concepts of Signs of Safety to assist them in their job role. This 3-hour session is relevant to employees who: - will not be using the Signs of Safety approach directly with families, but will see it in practice and need to understand its simplest form - need an introduction to the approach before they go on to do more specific role-relevant training. These half-day workshops are provided at no charge to LSCB partner agencies. As with all LSCB run courses though, a 'no show' on the day will result in a £25 per person 'penalty' fee to the agency.
