This one day programme is intended for any individuals from the Council and staff from all Statutory, Voluntary and Independent sectors working with people with Epilepsy.

Non-care staff need only attend the morning session of this course.

The course is a combination of interactive discussion, demonstration and practice with equipment and group work.

Code: SGC/24/0562 Research in Practice - Cultural humility and anti-racist practice (South Glos Social Care Staff Only)

This workshop will support participants to consider what cultural humility and anti-racist practice means to them in the context of their professional identities and organisations. Cultural humility is a stance that attempts to genuinely understand people's identities in relations to race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class and socioeconomic status, education, social needs for example. Through the engagement of critical thinking and open dialogue, participants will work towards being more attuned to addressing racism, marginalisation and exclusion on the personal, team and organisational level.

This course is for South Glos social care practitioners working across direct service delivery middle managers and leaders.

This is a full day interactive sessions delivered online and participants are encouraged to contribute with the aid of breakout rooms, the chat function and large group discussions. Participants will benefit from having a quiet space to work without interruption. Slides will be sent out after the session. Please ensure that you are using the most current version of Microsoft Teams to enable all function on the day.
