Code: SGC/20/309 Tuning into your Two Year Olds (cf) (Cancelled)

This 4-part course is suitable for all practitioners working with 2 – 3 year olds who would like the opportunity to network with other practitioners in a similar role, to share good practice and partake in quality professional discussions.

Two year olds have an appetite for acquiring knowledge and skills at a rate that we find incredible but that we don’t always understand. This course will give you practical skills, theoretical knowledge and confidence in providing an environment that really fosters the natural curiosity and energy that two year olds express.

This is a four part course which will also involve a ‘gap task’ for you to practise new knowledge and skills learnt.

Session 1: Building a two year old’s brain – explore aspects of child development and how the brain is a vital part of that development.

Session 2: How to provide playful experiences that support children’s creativity.

Session 3: How the prime areas of development are the foundation for children’s learning in the future.

Session 4: Reflection on previous learning and to understand the importance of analysing observations and making accurate judgement when completing the Progress Check at 2.

Youth Mental Health First Aid will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need.
