Code: SGC/20/0986 Mental Wellbeing in Everyday Practice: Connect 5 Module 3 (Cancelled)

Connect 5 is an accredited, evidence based mental health training programme relevant to the whole of the public facing workforce.

It provides participants with practical skills and competencies to confidently hold connected conversations about mental health and wellbeing in their routine practice.

It provides tools to empower others to understand, manage and improve their own mental health and resilience.

Connect 5 Module 2 (3 hours) continues the learning of core skills, methods and tools used to help participants feel confident engaging in a mental wellbeing conversation with those who are struggling.

Connect 5 takes the position that we don’t need to be mental health specialists to support those who are experiencing emotional and mental health problems. It is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Five Ways to Wellbeing and Making Every Contact Count.
The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health.

Pre-requisites: Connect 5 Mini or Connect 5 Module 1 and Module 2

Please note you will be sent an email with a link to join the Zoom webinar the day prior to the event.

Code: SGC/20/0980 Wellbeing Coaching - South Glos staff only DP

These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.

Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone.  Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.

Code: SGC/20/0948 Write Mind: Writing for Wellbeing

Writing can help us pay attention to our emotions and nurture our wellbeing, one small step at a time.

In this bitesize taster workshop we’ll use words to create a calming moment for ourselves and space to reflect on what makes us who we are. If you'd like to reflect, restore and build your resilience in a safe and supportive group, then this session could be for you.

There’s no need to be a writer, or ‘good’ with words; you just need yourself and a notepad and the facilitator will guide you gently through the session, which will involve a short series of simple writing activities. No previous experience is needed.
