Code: SGC/18/459 Basic Drug and Alcohol Training (Cancelled)

The Basic Drug and alcohol awareness training is aimed anyone who thinks that an increase of awareness around the effects of substances would benefit their working life. We will include exercises on what a drug is and their effects, drugs box information (a look at some example (fake) substances) and information about them. New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) information and the problems associated with this new trend in drug use will be discussed. Participants can take a look at paraphernalia, and trends in use locally and nationally. Alcohol and identification and brief advice and how to recognise signs and symptoms of use (both drug and alcohol), signposting and referral pathways.

Code: SGC/18/023 Level 2 Award in Food Safety (Basic Food Hygiene)

This award (formerly the Basic Food Hygiene certificate) is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). All food handlers are required by law to receive appropriate food hygiene training. This is relevant for anyone in contact with food preparation and service, such as Catering Staff, Care/Support staff (adult social care/housing-related services), Teaching staff, Lunchtime Supervisors, Classroom Assistants and Students.
