It is recommended that you attend the "Raising Safeguarding Concerns" course before you attend this training
Safeguarding Adults is an important part of effective practice within social and healthcare.
The role of a manager/practitioner in ensuring that staff respond appropriately to a safeguarding concern is vital. Staff need to be well informed and confident about their own responsibilities in safeguarding adults so that they respond appropriately when concerns are identified.
This 1-day course will support managers/supervisors, Social Workers/OTs and other practitioners including in healthcare to be clear about their role, how Making Safeguarding Personal impacts on it, and how to make decisions about what to do next.
The standard charge for this course is £103.50 per day. Please refer to our Course Charges on the Home page for information on discounts and exemptions.

This inspiring session is delivered by 'Barnardo's Lived Experience Consultancy' and is open to staff in Childrens Social Care and Preventative Services.
The young people delivering this session will be using their lived experience to inspire us to be more trauma aware. They have known each other and the staff at Barnardo's over a number of years and so fully trust one another. This session is unique.
A previous attendee shared that it was probably the best Trauma Informed (TI) training that they had attended. They also loved the way they were asked to reflect on what they would do differently in their practice, in response to the top 7 tips to work in a TI way.
They left the session feeling confident that a lot of what they did was TI, but with a greater awareness and understanding of what people suffering from trauma go through/think about the professionals working with them as well.
This training is for everyone in social care; social work assistants, social workers, personal assistants, team managers, service managers.
Hearing from people with lived experience is so powerful, as we know. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from the experts and be given the time and space to reflect on what changes you could make to your current practice to be the best TI practitioner that you can be.
