This support group has been set up specifically for carers of teenagers, who may be struggling, or would like to better cope with some of the behaviours that their young people are showing.
The group will be facilitated by Thinking Aloud and will aim to meet once every 6 weeks during term time. The programme will very much be determined by yourselves, as this series of support groups has been set up with you in mind to meet your current needs.
It would be helpful if you could email catherine.charlton@southglos.gov.uk any particular issues that you would perhaps like covered in advance, as a more detailed programme could be drawn up ahead of the sessions, if we know what the issues are.

Census 2021 Councillor Briefings
The next national Census for England and Wales will be held on 21 March 2021. The Census is vital for the Council as the data it provides underpins the work we undertake; no other source of data provides as detailed and comprehensive information about our communities. Census population counts also underpin the planning and funding of public services, therefore ensuring that our count here in South Gloucestershire is as accurate as possible is of paramount importance, so we receive the resource allocations and funding we are entitled to from central government.
The Council is working closely with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to deliver the Census. This training session is an opportunity for you to meet our local ONS Census Engagement Manager (Dan Budd) who will provide key information about the Census, provide an update on how local engagement is progressing with the key population groups across South Gloucestershire as well as sharing information to help you signpost residents who need support.

These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.
Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone. Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.
