Code: SGC/21/0456 FACS Support Group - Supporting you and your Teenager

In light of the new restrictions which came into place yesterday, Grace and I have been thinking of new ways to support you and your teenager. We realise this is an uncertain time for you all and can cause anxiety, stresses and isolation from social interactions which can affect everyone’s mental health. To help reduce these pressures we thought it would be nice to offer a new way to socialize with others by offering an open space via Microsoft teams, to interact with others who are birth children in the fostering family. We would like to offer an hour drop-in session to chat and chill with other teenagers who are birth children aged 13-18 years old. The drop-in sessions would allow them to interact and talk openly about anything they would like, with the support of myself and Grace and others in a similar position. We will run the session twice a month to start with but if there is a need to increase the sessions, we are happy to provide this. We will continue these sessions until we have a further update regarding the national lockdown restrictions.
