This network is for SENCOs and Childminders.


These network sessions will provide childminders and setting SENCOs with:

· Up to date information about national and local initiatives regarding SEND.
· Opportunities to share professional discussions and dialogue on an identified topic or theme for the evening.
· Opportunities for practitioners to update their knowledge and share practice on SEND.

Each series of meeting will have a spotlight on a particular aspect of SEND. This may include a speaker and will provide practitioners with opportunities for professional discussion and dialogue. The focus of the meeting will be posted on the VLE one month prior to the meeting taking place.

This one day workshop is for mentors who want to develop a greater understanding of how to improve the performance of others. It’s an interactive day in which you’ll explore different communication styles, learn tools and techniques to build effective relationships, and confidence to tackle issues. As an apprentice mentor this training will help you to empower people to perform more effectively and you will also find that you become more effective too.

YOU WILL NEED TO ATTEND A RAISING SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS COURSE BEFORE ATTENDING THIS TRAINING. Managers of agencies that provide services for adults at risk must ensure they lead a "safe service", with competent staff and an organisational culture that safeguards adults. This 1-day workshop will help delegates to understand and be accountable for the key factors in managing and preventing organisational abuse in the services they lead and/or review. In this 1 day training, aimed at all supporters and allies of people who self-harm, you will be provided with the opportunity to: - Understand what self-harm is, and consider why someone might use this strategy as a way of coping with their experiences. - Explore some myths and the impact of stigma for people who self-harm - Hear about what people who hurt themselves have said about self-harm, and what they have found helpful in professional and personal responses - Explore some of the shared challenges faced by supporters of people who self-harm from a wide variety of settings - Gain knowledge and information in order to build confidence when supporting someone who self-harms, including harm minimisation and safer self-harm approaches - Consider your own wellbeing and emotional health needs in a supportive environment.

These 50 minute coaching sessions with coaches will assist council staff in coming up with strategies and action plans to maintain and build their wellbeing and resilience. Unlike counselling which provides a safe space to explore worries and concerns, these confidential coaching sessions will help staff come up with individual plans to help them build their resilience, understand what they can do to enhance their wellbeing and overcome current and future obstacles. There are activities and exercises that wellbeing coaches can also give people to work through in their own time if they would find it useful.

Please note these sessions will be delivered by skype or telephone.  Your coach will contact you to confirm the best method for you.
