Event description
Equality, diversity and inclusion is a council priority. There is a range of courses available to ensure that staff and managers have the knowledge they need to support this. We have now developed a short course specifically around challenging unacceptable behaviour. It is available as a live webinar and in-person session for those who don’t have access to Teams. The course is a pilot and likely to develop as we gather feedback and include additional information.
Learning outcomes
To understand:
- what it means to be an equality focussed council
- key aspects of the Equality Act 2010 and the nine Protected Characteristics
- what discrimination is as well as other types of unacceptable behaviour in the workplace
- how unacceptable behaviour can be challenged and an employee’s duty to escalate
