Are you wondering whether moving into management is the right career move for you? This programme aims to give you an insight into what’s involved in management and the steps you can take to prepare yourself to apply for future management roles.

Comprising e-modules, self-study and practical elements, supported by webinars and face to face sessions, the programme will help you build the foundation knowledge to support your career next steps.
Learning outcomes
Aims: To help staff who are curious about management as a future career option find out more about the role of manager and what they need to do to prepare for it.

Objectives: By the end of the programme delegates will be able to:

1. Describe the role and responsibilities of managers within South Glos council;
2. Explain what is meant by personal development and actions they can take to progress this for themselves;
3. Access e-modules and other open-access resources relevant to management;
4. Maintain a learning log where they reflect on their learning and how they can put this into practice within their role;
5. Develop a range of personal performance evidence demonstrating their potential to apply for a management role.
