Event description
The Social Work Leadership Pathways programme is a national practice leadership development programme for social workers, created by social work charity Frontline, funded by the Department for Education and delivered in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council and What Works for Children’s Social Care, and with the support of Hertfordshire County Council.

To find out more please visit Pathways programme | Frontline (thefrontline.org.uk)

The Pathways programme replaces the Practice Supervisors Development Programme (PSDP), Firstline programme, Headline programme and Practice Leaders Development Programme (PLDP), consolidating all leadership development for these levels of leadership into one cohesive offer.

Frontline recognises the significant strength and impact that these programmes have had on social work practice over many years, so will be learning from and building on this within the Pathways programme

What is the Pathways Programme?

The Pathways programme consists of multiple bespoke pathways for four levels of social worker role.

• Practice Supervisors – Pathway 1
• Middle managers – Pathway 2
• Heads of Service – Pathway 3
• Practice Leaders - Pathway 4

Who is Eligible?

There needs to be a social work qualification at one end or the other e.g.

• The leader needs to be social work qualified but could be supervising or managing non-qualified social workers
• The leader is not social work qualified but they are supervising or managing qualified social workers
• If neither is the case then they are not eligible.

If you would like to access Pathway 2, please discuss with your team manager initially and then, following their approval, register your interest by requesting a place here. You will receive an email confirming that your request has been received, with two attachments.
The first attachment will be a detailed overview of the programme, the second will contain the link that you will need to click on in order to secure your place in upcoming cohorts. Places are filling up fast, so I’d encourage you to do this ASAP.
