Join us for an inspiring introduction to green infrastructure (GI) facilitated by the team at Building with Nature
. This webinar will introduce what green infrastructure is and how high-quality GI integrated into projects at all scales can deliver benefits across our Council Plan priorities.
For staff from across service areas and at all levels who are involved in the planning, design, adoption and maintenance of GI, this webinar is an opportunity to come together to strengthen how we work together from planning policy to grounds maintenance to deliver and sustain the benefits of high quality GI.
Through highlighting examples of good practice and tools available, this is an important opportunity to progress a shared understanding and integrated approach regarding GI to support our work together across the council and with our partners.
To be held just after our Green Infrastructure Strategy is brought to the November cabinet and the global discussions at COP 26, these workshops will help catalyse our work in response to the Climate and Nature Emergency and help us prepare for new statutory requirements through the Environment Bill including Biodiversity Net Gain.
The role of green spaces for health and wellbeing for all has been highlighted during the pandemic and as we move forward, GI is playing an increasing role in regeneration plans for our high streets and communities and for new placemaking through our Local Plan.
