Please note this session is for Community Group Volunteers only, if you work in a Social Care organisation or charity, please book on Raising Safeguarding Concerns training.

The multi-agency South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board oversees the Joint Policy & Procedures for Safeguarding Adults in this area. It is essential that a wide range of individuals who support adults at risk are aware of key issues of Safeguarding Adults.

This session will equip volunteers who support community groups within South Gloucestershire to identify what safeguarding adults is, how to recognise an adult at risk and what to do if abuse is disclosed or suspected.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the session the participant will:

• Understand what Safeguarding Adults is
• Recognise an adult at risk
• Identify what abuse may look like
• List legislation, policies and procedures that support Safeguarding Adults
• Explain what to do if abuse if disclosed or suspected and how to raise a safeguarding concern.
