Event description
This session is for theparent/carers of Children & Young people with any additional need or disability and/or Mental health needs.
Overwhelm happens to all of us when we are under a lot of stress, and it can be heightened by the sensory environment around us. This will be an interactive practical session where you can make a sensory item with us or just simply watch and get ideas.
We will be able to discuss/share ideas and strategies to help your child/young person to ensure their sensory needs are being met, therefore, reducing their overwhelm.
If you would like to make a sensory item with us you will need the following items (you don't have to make them all, just choose the ones you prefer) :
Lava sensory bottle
1 sturdy small clear bottle 500/600ml ('smart' water bottles work well)
250 / 300ml baby oil or veg oil (baby oil has the advantage of being clear)

food colouring
1 alkaseltzer tablet
Origami Fidget spinner
15x15 cm (6x6 inch) square piece of paper
