This will be delivered via Zoom and hosted by Suzanne Pearson. You will be sent a Zoom invite nearer the time.

South Glos Council employees must request a Zoom Licence from ICT by logging a support ticket (Intranet Home Page, under ICT)

This half day course is aimed at people working in a variety of settings and will provide information and greater understanding about anxiety and depression and the evidenced-based strategies and services that can help promote wellbeing.

Target Audience: Managers, staff, volunteers, carers and others from a wide range of services and backgrounds with an interest in promoting wellbeing and addressing anxiety and/or depression in the workplace, in service provision and in the wider community. Bookings are welcomed from statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies and individuals.

Approach: The workshop will consist of a mixture of factual presentation, small group work and large group discussion within agreed ground rules of confidentiality and respecting each other’s points of view. There will be comprehensive handouts available on completion.

Learning outcomes
• Gain information about wellbeing and stress management strategies linked to 'The Five Ways to Wellbeing'
• Recognise and understand stress, anxiety and depression and the factors commonly involved
• Find out more about evidenced based strategies and self-help resources that can promote wellbeing and reduce anxiety and depression
• Know the first aid for panic attacks
• Understand the basics of suicide safety responses
• Gain signposting information for local services and national resources
