This is a mandatory training session for all Council Budget Holders.

Following a recent CIPFA review, a recommendation was made that all budget holders attend Finance training to recap the Council financial budget processes. Training has been split into 3 2-hour modules:

Module 1 - Process Overviews, Roles & Responsibilities
Module 2 - System Training
Module 3 - Departmental specific training including Capital Processes (Dates TBC)

Module 2 will cover the following:

Brief recap of Budget Cycle process
How to analyse and narrate budget updates
How to use Civica to interrogate spend information
How to use approve invoices
How to apply for and use purchase cards

Learning outcomes

Participants will:
Understand how to analyse spend data reports from Finance
Understand how to narrate budget monitoring reports
Understand how to complete salary and budget monitoring templates
To be completed when finished module is complete
